Here I am with my friends Jessie and Roz.

I have a new Mom!

Dart has a new Mom and her name is Julie. His Dad's name is Ralph. I know he will be so happy. He loves his new family and was chasing the ball with his Boys, Ralph and Peyton. Good luck, my friend and I'll see you soon!

Dart is so curious. He watches TV when he sees something he finds interesting. He was so cute listening to the dogs howling. He couldn't figure out where they were. Roz is the one who lets out one little bark and I'm dogsitting for my friend Angela and that's her Aspen that Dart jumps over. Jessie seems a little unsettled by it all but none of them howls, which is what I wanted to see.

It's all good.

We woke up early, ate breakfast and went potty. So all I have to do the rest of the day is sleep. Alright, maybe a little play mixed in with that. As you can see, I'm ready for anything. All I need is my stuffed rabbit.

Dart is an absolute charm and I know he could steal anyone's heart. He has stolen ours. Last night about 10:30 PM, he decided that he wanted to go outside and play. So he grabbed the rabbit and headed outside to throw it up in the air and catch it. He ran around a little, then came in and went to bed. How perfect is that? A dog who exercises themselves too?

I smell sooo good.

Dart finally got a bath today. I have wanted to bathe him for the longest time (8 days) and his tail and paw were finally healed enough to give it a go. He was so funny in the shower and was the biggest leaner I've ever bathed. I had to stop him from going down at least three times. I made sure to rinse his paws after I washed each one to help him keep his traction. That helped a little but he still leaned so hard on the wall of the shower. So far he's had a shower, had his nails trimmed, had his ears cleaned, his tail patched, had his paw sliced and patched, hmmm, he had a rash on his belly and everything is taken care of and he's beautiful. He's not missing hair on the back of his thighs like a lot of hounds. Oh and since he's dried off, he's soooo soft. Now he's ready to find his new home. It will be hard to let this boy go but he will be fine. I can tell that since it was so easy to acclimate into our home. He was comfortable from the first day he walked through the door.

He still acts like a big puppy though. He will go into my daughter's bedroom, steal a stuffie and take it outside to play with it. He likes to throw them up and chase after them. It's really cute. He likes slippers too.

That was fun!

I don't kennel Dart when we leave and he's always been really good, that is until yesterday. I was doing laundry and had the baskets lined up with all the folded clothes in them. When we got home, almost half of the clothes were strewn throughout the house. Not only that, he had gotten hold of some fake grapes that I had in a bowl and they were also strewn throughout the house. Needless to say, he knew I was not happy with him. I said nothing but he read my body language and stayed far away from me and laid down in his bed. When I was finally over being mad, (because it looked like he actually had a good time), he knew and came over for some loving. He got it.

I took his happy tail bandage off yesterday and wasn't sure that I should leave it off because it still had a scab on it. But I know leaving a would open to the air heals them more quickly. Well, when we got home after being gone for an hour, there was blood on the wall. Not a lot but it had broken open again. I re-wrapped it and he was so good. He's just so calm and relaxed. He's awesome.
